The Proposal

of

Miranda & Troy

Troy and Miranda met at the Anderson Township LaRosa’s when they were 18. Troy was a line cook, and Miranda was a hostess. They became friends over cheesy breadsticks and going out for late dinner with their coworkers. After less than a year, Miranda admitted to Troy that she liked him and understood if he just wanted to be friends. He was confident about it and asked, “Who said I don’t like you too?” Miranda & Troy were inseparable after that.
Troy proposed in their home in South Carolina after interrupting Miranda’s cleaning spree. It was just the 2 of them, simple and no frills, just like they are.

The Wedding

of

Miranda & Troy

Troy and I were actually married on our 8th anniversary. We got ready with our petite wedding party consisting of our good friends, my sister-in-law, and our beloved niece. While Troy and I were in our separate suites getting ready, our families were downstairs coordinating all setup. From the lantern centerpieces, my father made for us to the setting up of the memorial table of my family members, we’d have given anything to be there. I gifted my parents something special before the ceremony. My father, a custom decanter w/ glasses for his bar, and my mother, letters from me for every occasion I can’t be there for due to being 4 states apart. My mother gave me her original wedding ring to wear as my something borrowed, and my grandmother gave me my departed grandfather’s rosary to wrap around my bouquet as my something old. When it came time for me to walk down, I got to walk to a unique piano rendition of In Dreams from Lord of the Rings (a special homage to my husband and I’s nerdy side) done by my favorite cousins. I look mad in all my pictures walking with my father, but I was just trying to hold in tears before getting to Troy. We had a beautiful ceremony in the gardens under a gazebo, with my younger brother, Patrick, officiating. Troy is a pretty quiet and collected guy, but when he read his vows, he had to take multiple deep breaths. He used a modified line of what he’d been saying for 8 years, “My love, my life, and today my wife.” I made my promises to remind him how strong he is in all moments, support him in all endeavors, and finally make him believe people when they say he’s a good singer. We waited 8 years to the day for this moment to call each other husband and wife. Of course, I said, “FINALLY” when my brother pronounced us married. We shared our first kiss, and, in true Troy fashion, he gave me a forehead kiss. We walked back down together, being rained on by bubbles from bubble cannons, and made our way inside for a drink before cocktail hour and picture hour for us started. Our family played yard games and had appetizers while we took pictures in the gardens with our family, wedding party, and just us. After the photos, we went upstairs and got a semi-private moment to eat before we were introduced at the reception. We went straight into our first dance to “I Hear a Symphony” by Cody Fry and surprised a few people with some spins that apparently were not expected of us. I got to see family who I hadn’t seen in person for nearly a decade since they live on the other side of the country, and I got to spend more time with my new family. I danced with my father to “Daddy’s Little Girl” by the Shires, and Troy danced with his mom to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts, which they didn’t realize how long it was. We danced, listened to speeches from our loved ones, and even though I swore I wouldn’t smash any cake in Troy’s face…I got it right up his nose.

Miranda’s

Bridal & Formal

Experience

I had a great experience here! I drove up from South Carolina to shop in the Reading Bridal District. I fell in love with a dress I did not expect, but it was better than I could’ve asked for. It actually trumped a dress from a different shop that I was considering going back for.
Our sale consultant was super sweet and upbeat. I appreciated that she let me pull things I liked and took what I said I wanted to pull other options.
