Kristin and Joey first met in their 7th-grade Language Arts class. Kristin used to joke that their meeting was foreshadowed, as they had the same last name as their teacher. Interestingly, Kristin now teaches English/Language Arts at their former high school and shares the same name as their 7th-grade teacher. Kristin and Joey quickly became friends and started dating in their senior year of high school in September 2016. On June 6, 2021, Joey proposed to Kristin on her parents’ front porch. He was so excited to see her that he popped the question when she came out.
June 11, 2022, was the most magnificent day of their lives. Kristin and Joey got hitched on the antiquated golf course at Carter Caves State Resort Park. The couple picked the location as it was a local park in their area, and it held a special place in Kristin’s heart since she worked there for four years while completing her undergraduate degree. The golf course scenery was breathtaking, with rolling hills and lush green grass in the background. Kristin and Joey rented two adjacent cottages, one for the bride and her bridesmaids and the other for the groom and groomsmen. They arrived at the cottages at 8 A.M., and Kristin’s worst wedding day nightmare came true: it was raining! The ceremony and reception were scheduled outside at 5:30 P.M., so Kristin was worried about the weather.
Despite the rain, Kristin felt tranquil about the day. The bride and her bridesmaids were calm and enjoyed spending time together. Around 12:30 P.M., Kristin and Joey had their first look. Just before she stepped outside, the rain stopped, and the sun shone! Kristin will never forget the feeling of walking to see Joey on that day, and the photographer and videographer joked that they had never seen a bride run so fast to their groom! When Joey turned around, she noticed he was already emotional before he saw her. This is a moment they will cherish forever. Their first look was so special since it was the only time of the day they were alone and able to talk to each other. Kristin and Joey highly recommend First Looks to everyone now! It was such a surreal moment. As a bride, you spend so much time relishing in the little details of planning your big day that you often lose sight of how important the union between the couple is. The first look gave them time for themselves, their favorite memories from the day, and the best time for pictures! After the bride and groom pictures, they called their wedding party to join in, and then they had family pictures taken.
Kristin and Joey had around half an hour to kill before the ceremony started, so the wedding party and families mingled by the cottages until it was time for everyone to depart for the ceremony! At 5:33, Kristin’s dad walked her down the aisle, and Joey and Kristin were married in front of 170 of their closest friends and family. After the ceremony, they were declared Mr. and Mrs. and joined the reception under a tent on the ceremony site. They relished the best food, shared the best laughs with their Maid of Honor and Best Man’s toasts, mingled with their favorite people, and danced the night away. Kristin and Joey had a sparkler grand exit, and then they shared a private last dance to end their night. As they were dancing together, it began to pour rain! Everything at that moment felt right and made all the planning, stress, and excitement worth it. And where are they now? Living happily ever after!
I had an unforgettable experience shopping at Bridal & Formal. I was incredibly nervous and worried I wouldn’t find the perfect dress to make my heart sing. Being outgoing and bubbly, feeling so closed off with fear, was unusual before I arrived. But the experience was magical! The salon was stunning, and the staff were welcoming and accommodating from the moment I arrived. I felt like I was in an episode of “Say Yes to the Dress.” My consultant, Lacrecia, introduced me to some Watters designers who were there for the showcase. (I can’t remember their names, unfortunately). One of them saw me and told Lacreia that “Tree” was my dress, and he was right! I said yes to the dress and had pictures taken with the designer! As a small-town girl from Kentucky, this was a fairy-tale experience that I will always cherish. I’ve recommended Bridal & Formal to all of my six friends who got engaged this year, and they’re all going there because of how much I raved about it! I hope to bring my daughter there one day and buy her wedding dress and many more for generations to come!
Lacrecia was incredible! She made the experience fun and chose dresses that fit my preferences. She was patient when I couldn’t decide between two dresses and made me feel comfortable and beautiful. I’ll never forget how confident and stunning she made me think and how lovely the salon was.
