On May 1st, the Feast of St. Joseph, the Worker, Kody, and Chris were married in the beautiful church of Our Lady of the Rosary in Dayton, Ohio. It was the perfect temperature and weather for the first wedding in May. The entire day surrounded them with so much joy and grace.
The Proposal of
Kody & Chris
We met online on Catholic Match, and the proposal happened at hocking hills in front of cedar falls on a hike.
The Wedding of
Kody & Chris
We got married at Our Lady of the Rosary in Dayton. We are Catholic, and we had an extraordinary form of solemn high mass. The photos after mass were at Cox Arboretum, and the reception location was the grande hall at liberty tower. We had a live band consisting of 9 musicians and a sound engineer because my father was in a wedding reception band for 30+ years. The band is called Blue Water Kings. The photos at the end were on top of the parking garage across the street from the grande hall.
Kody’s
Bridal & Formal
Experience
Sandra, with the English accent, helped me out. B&F was my second appointment to try on gowns. I had a picture of the dress to beat from Lace Bridal Couture, and Sandra immediately and confidently said, “don’t worry, I’ll beat it.” We talked about having long sleeves and modesty and elegance and grandness. Sandra pulled all the gowns for me to try on because of Covid. Maggie was having her trunk show that weekend and Sandra made me feel skinny and pretty and let me try on the size 6 gowns from Maggie. They were sparkly and lovely, but I didn’t like any of them. Then, her manager came in with the Eddy K gown. She asked if I wanted to try it on. It did not have sleeves. I will be honest, it was not the greatest looking on the hanger, but I said sure, yea, I want to try it on. Then, something magical happened, and I decided I loved it. The best part was it had BIG POCKETS! My MOH Ashley volunteered that day and stopped by on her way home to B&F. I put the dress back on when she arrived and then we both decided it was my dress. My mom attended the appt too, and she loved it too. It was the perfect dress. We then tried it on with the veil, and they handed me a bouquet of fake flowers, and then I sealed the deal. B&F was nice enough to let me come back the very next day for a “reveal” of sorts so that the father of the bride and MIL could see the dress. They loved it too.
