The Proposal

of

Grace & Brody

Brody told me we were going out for a date night. He wanted to surprise me, so I had no clue where we were going, but I knew to dress up! COVID had us feeling down, and Brody had been working a lot, so the fact that Brody wanted the dinner to be a surprise didn’t strike me as odd. We pulled up to the Dayton Towers parking lot downtown, and he told me we were going to Francos. I complained about how we would get towed parking at the Dayton Towers, but he insisted it was okay. We reminisced about how we met for the first time at the Dayton Towers years ago and laughed about all of the memories we have there as we walked through the park between the building and Francos. Then, he asked if I wanted to take a selfie to distract me. As I got my phone out, he dropped to his knee and proposed! Then I noticed he had hired a photographer who came out of hiding as he did it, and she captured the whole moment. It was beautiful! Then he told me my parents didn’t know, and instead, if going to dinner, we had to go tell them. When we got to my parent’s house, our family, friends, and loved ones were there to surprise me! He and my parents had planned a beautiful engagement party at our house. It was perfect!

The Wedding

of

Grace & Brody

Our wedding day was an absolute dream. From start to finish, the day was filled with joy, laughter, and love. Brody and I opted not to do a first look. One of the things he was most excited about on our wedding day was seeing me for the first time as his “bride” walking down the aisle. I am so happy we didn’t see each other beforehand. The look on his face when I walked down the aisle is something I will always cherish! He and his groomsmen got ready at our house while my bridesmaids and I got ready at the hotel. I was in awe when we arrived at the wedding venue. Seeing something we had worked so hard on come to life after a year of planning was excellent. We honestly had the dream team of vendors.
The ceremony was breathtakingly beautiful in the rotunda at The Dayton Arcade. We had a string quartet play for the ceremony and cocktail hour, which made everything feel elegant and dreamy! They played the theme song to our favorite show, the Office, for our recessional. Guests went to the “tank” at the Arcade for cocktail hour. Two unique things about our cocktail hour were an ice sculpture with sushi and a “champagne wall” where guests could ring a bell and receive a glass from a gloved hand behind the wall. It was a huge hit! The reception was a blast. My husband and I had the time of our lives, dancing the night away with friends and family.
When people say their wedding day is the best day of their lives thus far, you usually think they say it out of obligation- or at least that’s what I thought until we married. Our wedding day was something out of a fairytale and was the best day of our lives! It was everything we ever wished for and more. We could not have pulled it off without our wonderful parents and vendors! Brody and I took a moment at dinner to scan the room and look at all the people who have loved and supported us over the last 7 years of our relationship. We were in awe! When we started dating in our teens, we never imagined that we’d be sitting in a room with 200 people celebrating our marriage years later. And to think all of this happened because a mutual friend set us up on a blind date years ago!

Grace’s

Bridal & Formal

Experience

I was matched to work with Maddy, Tina’s daughter. The experience was terrific! After visiting 4 stores and probably trying on 100 dresses, I came to Bridal and Formal ready to find the one. I was prepared to settle for a beautiful dress, but it still didn’t give me the “wow” factor I was looking for. That’s when my mom threw one more gown in my dressing room. It was the exact opposite of what I thought I was looking for. But I tried it on and fell in love! It was a timeless, beautiful, elegant gown. To give me the full effect, Maddy threw my hair in a gorgeous updo in no time flat. Wearing my dress in the store was the first time I felt like a bride! She was wonderful! Maddy was patient and encouraged me to try several dresses outside my comfort zone. I am so happy she did because the dress I chose was not what I thought I wanted, but I am still obsessed with it! I thought I wanted a bright white form-fitting gown, but every one I tried on didn’t feel like me. So she helped me narrow down what style I really liked and ultimately helped me find my perfect dress!
