Colleen and Kyle’s wedding was about focusing on what mattered most—each other and their families—and celebrating their union. They chose a slightly nontraditional approach, spending four days with their immediate families in the hills of Tuscany, Italy. The days leading up to the wedding were filled with memorable experiences, including a welcome dinner, exploring a nearby small city, truffle hunting, and enjoying peaceful evenings on a restaurant terrace.
On the morning of the ceremony, rain threatened to change their plans, moving their dinner indoors. However, by the time they began getting ready, the sun broke through the Apennine Mountains. The ceremony occurred in a beautiful garden between olive trees overlooking the Magra Valley. After the ceremony, they enjoyed Aperitivo. They continued the celebration with a traditional Tuscan wedding dinner made with local ingredients, where wine and laughter flowed freely. The evening concluded with their first dances under the lights of the courtyard.
While their wedding wasn’t traditional, Colleen and Kyle cherished every moment spent together over several days rather than focusing on just one day. Their families enjoyed daily meals together and filled their free time exploring the scenic surroundings. Colleen and Kyle spent their entire wedding day together, starting with croissants and cappuccinos in the morning, having lunch with their parents before getting ready, and extending through to their departure. The morning after the wedding, they all enjoyed wedding cake and cappuccinos for breakfast while reflecting on the perfect day before. They felt incredibly fortunate to have such excellent vendor partners whose attention to detail allowed them to focus on their time together.
Like most things in my life, I spent a lot of time and thought on my dress before I even stepped foot in a dress shop. When I walked in, I knew exactly what I wanted – simple, with a twist. I envisioned a simple dress and silhouette with organic color that would complement the Italian countryside where we were getting married. My mom and my stylist, Bobbi, got creative to achieve this. They pinned a Toni Federici veil around my waist to bring my vision to life. Tina, our dress consultant, called the designer in the store, and they agreed to transform one of their veil designs into an overskirt for my dream dress.
