Jacob and I met during our freshman year on our first day and the first college class. He sat right next to me, and the rest was history. We dated for 6 years before Jacob finally proposed. Jacob, myself, and our dog were hiking in Yellow Springs when he proposed. I had absolutely no idea and was in total shock.
The day was everything I had hoped for (and planned) and more. The week before the wedding, it rained every day and it was supposed to rain the day after our wedding. I was terrified that the weather predictions would be off and the wedding day would be pouring rain. We had been planning to get married at the Pillar Garden in front of Groesbeck Estate, and our rain plan was to “just go with it.” I was relieved the morning of the wedding when I woke up to see an overcast sky in the mid-70s for the temperature high of the day. The girls and I got ready in a small Airbnb in downtown Milford. The morning was filled with coffee, mimosas, laughs, and early 2000s pop music (the best way to start your wedding day, right?!). When everyone had their hair and makeup done, we went to Groesbeck, where wedding day preparations had already begun. About a half hour before the ceremony began, guests started to arrive, and the sun came out (it was seriously like a movie). As the ceremony music began, my nerves were at an all-time high, but everything was perfect as soon as I saw my husband. My father-in-law performed at the wedding, which made it extra special. Cocktail hour was filled with soft pretzels, charcuterie, and giant Jenga for the guests. My husband and I were taking pictures in a grassy field near Groesbeck. The reception was filled with dancing, drinks, and a good time. The day was everything we ever wanted and so much more. It indeed was the happiest day of my life!
I had the best bridal shopping experience! I shopped with Jen (who I knew from high school) and Randy! The experience was everything I had hoped for and more. I shopped for nearly an hour and a half, and as my appointment was wrapping up, Jen asked if she could pull a “wild card” dress for me to put on. Jen showed me, and I immediately declined because it did not look like something I would like on the hanger. However, after some convincing, I tried on the dress, which became THE. I could not be more thankful for Jen pushing me to try it on and to Randy for giving me my “say yes to the dress” moment.
