Alex and I met through a college friend when he transferred from my university to Alex’s university to play football. They were next-door roommates. When we met, neither of us looked for anything particular, instead just a friend, and here we are almost 5 years later. Alex proposed to me when we both got home from work in the midst of trying to go pick up a new patio set. It was just the two of us in the comfort of our own home, and it was beyond the most memorable thing in my life to have happened. It was entirely unexpected for both of us, actually. Alex said he had no idea it would be that day and only knew it when he walked in the back door after work that day!
Due to COVID, we had to go from 200 people to 12 people, including our immediate family with some aunts and uncles in attendance on the Gazebo Park lawn. The sun was shining all day, the weather was perfect, and we enjoyed every second of being surrounded by those we love most and those who made us who we are today. Though we were saddened we did not get to spend our special day with all of our closest friends like we had hoped, changing our minds to go the small route made our day that much more intimate. This was by far the best, most emotional, most personal, and happiest day we have reached life thus far, and if we had to go back and do it over again, we would do it precisely the same.
ABSOLUTELY loved our experience and the way everyone made us feel when we were there. Everyone went out of their way to allow me to find the most perfect dress for me. Iris even did my hair in a quick updo so I could get the complete picture with the dress. Iris was so lovely, honest, and by far the best person to have helped us! She made my dream come true even amid a pandemic.
