A Cheerful Day during the Pandemic Blues

The Proposal

of

Paige & Thomas

Thomas and I met on New Year’s Eve in Cincinnati at a party thrown by mutual friends. We enjoyed talking to each other at the party and plan to see each other a few weeks later. I lived in Columbus at the time, but we both commuted between the two cities every weekend for 2 years until I found a job in Cincinnati and moved back.
After almost 3 years together, Thomas proposed to NYC in Central Park. I was there for a business trip, and he planned to come up for the weekend. Thomas told my friend the plan the week before, and she worked to keep us on schedule so we would be in the park at the right time. He proposed once we got to Central Park, and I had no idea! He hired a photographer that took photos of our engagement. It was so romantic and such a great surprise!

The Wedding

of

Paige & Thomas

Our wedding day was magical! We initially had our wedding set for June, but we had to postpone it due to the pandemic. Leading up to the wedding, it was hectic moving everything around and figuring out all the details to keep our guests safe. When I woke up on our wedding day, I was calm and happy and excited to marry my best friend. The weather was a perfect 70 degrees and sunny.
I got ready with my bridesmaids and family. We were supposed to get ready in 2 adjoining hotel rooms, but the front desk accidentally gave those away. They put us in a big conference room, which worked out perfectly! We had plenty of space to get ready, and the family stopped by throughout the day, which was so special. I had so much fun spending time with everyone the morning of, and my fiancé even stopped by to drop Starbucks off, which was so sweet.
When I put on my dress, I felt absolutely amazing, and I was so excited to finally get to wear it (I had for almost a year and a half). When my mom was buttoning up my dress, the top button popped off, but thankfully my bridesmaid saved the day and was able to sew it back on. Once I put on my dress, I opened my present from Thomas, a beautiful diamond necklace that looked perfect with my dress. He opened his gift earlier in the day (a lightsaber from Disneyland that I hid in my parent’s house for over a year), and I was so excited to finally give it to him.
When it was time to do our first look at Ault Park, I was so nervous and excited to finally see Thomas. I had planned my wedding outfit for over a year, and I could not wait for him to see it. It was such a happy moment once we were finally reunited on that day. We had so much fun talking and laughing while taking all our pictures.
We ended up getting to the ceremony a little late and I remember being so nervous waiting with my dad and bridesmaids before I walked down the aisle. Our ceremony went great until my sister and MOH fainted at the altar. Thankfully, my dad used his cat-like reflexes to catch her, and she was okay!
The rest of the reception was a whirlwind. I had so much fun spending time with all my friends and family. All the speeches had everyone laughing (and crying)! We had the perfect group of people there, and everyone was dancing and laughing and having so much fun the entire night! Our wedding day turned out even better than I could have imagined and was worth all the planning.

Paige’s

Bridal & Formal

Experience

My experience with Bridal and Formal was terrific! I had already gone to another bridal salon but did not find any dresses I absolutely loved. My sister-in-law recommended Bridal and Formal, so my mom and I decided to head there one weekend. My Randy Fenoli dress was the second dress I tried on, and my consultant Jen could tell I was in love with it. I would recommend Bridal and Formal to any bride! They have such a vast selection and will work with you to stay within your budget.
Jen was the best! She made me feel so comfortable throughout the process and worked really hard to make sure I found the perfect dress. The Randy Fenoli Audrey gown was the second dress I tried on, and I loved it. She had me try on a few more after that, but she could tell I was thinking about that dress, so she had me try it again with a bunch of accessories, and I knew right away it was the one. Jen made our experience so memorable and fun!
