Talk about a celebration–from the engagement photo (with colorful confetti cascading down) to the wedding cake (funfetti), and it was a beautiful and FUN party!
The ceremony was at St. Louis Bertrand, followed by a cocktail hour with The Brown Hotel serving mini “Hot Browns” (of course), mini Monte Cristo sandwiches plus chicken and waffles. After the dinner chimes rang, everyone moved to the beautiful Crystal Ballroom for dinner consisting of Caesar salad, followed by a duo entree of herb-crusted chicken and cabernet braised short rib of beef, served with potatoes au gratin and haricots vert.
When the guests were seated at their tables, each found a gold acrylic nameplate–some using nicknames to make it more personal. A bugler played “Call to the Post” as Chris and I were announced as husband and wife entering the ballroom. The dancing began with the traditional Lebanese Dabke dance. Then everyone danced the night away with glow wands, light-up leis, crazy wigs, and giant foam hats.
Then it was time for a light night snack of Papa John’s Pizza (I work at Papa John’s corporate office) and mini milkshake shooters.
My parents hosted a brunch the next morning in the J. Graham Brown Suite at The Brown Hotel. We tried to make as many things custom and personal to their relationship and life as possible. Including our family was a huge priority for us.
Our custom wedding crest was used on the invitations, cake topper, napkins, menu cards, welcome bags, and table numbers. There was even a “step and repeat” photo area with a backdrop of the crest.
I wore an Enzoani gown with custom sleeves, and the groom wore a Suitsupply tux. The groomsmen wore Calvin Klein tuxes, and the bridesmaids wore long, black dresses from Azaie.
My favorite part of the day was the entry into the reception and joining the bridal party on the dance floor. Chris’s favorite part of the day was their first look on the rooftop of The Brown Hotel.
The most moving part of the day for both of us was when I was walking down the aisle and us seeing each other– the day had finally come!

The entire appointment at Bridal and Formal was absolutely fabulous! Our consultant made us feel like we were her only appointment of the day. I had a “say yes to the dress” moment without having to travel to New York! Bridal and Formal have the most significant selection bar none. My mom and I had so much fun browsing the vast selection and grabbing a few dresses as our consultant pulled some she thought would work. My mom and I dress shopping together in the store, which is one of my favorite memories from the entire wedding planning process. I had this vision of myself in a gown with sleeves. When I tried on the Nellie gown by Enzoani, I knew it was the dress for me. I just needed to add some sleeves. We ordered extra fabric from Enzoani through Bridal and Formal and had custom sleeves attached. It was a perfect fit!
