The Proposal of Taryn & Ian

Ian and Taryn met online like most introverted millennial couples do. Taryn was immediately attracted to Ian’s resemblance to a young hazel-eyed Christopher Reeves. As they spent time together, Taryn fell in love with Ian’s wanderlust, sense of humor, smile, cooking, and the sense of safety he provided. After four and a half years of dating, they were serious about getting engaged and had planned a trip to Glacier National Park.
However, the pandemic hit, and they had to cancel their plans
to travel to Banff National Park were cancelled due to COVID-19 international travel restrictions.  They decided to go on hikes and spend quality time together outside their house instead.

When they arrived in Montana, they found that the wildfires in Oregon had caused thick grey smoke that made it impossible to see beyond a ten-foot radius. Despite the disappointment, Taryn and Ian didn’t let it ruin their trip. They went to a town three hours away to go sapphire digging on the first day and then drove into the park on the second day. After their first hike, the smoke began to clear, and they decided to go on a more challenging trail to the 7,486-foot summit of the Haystack Butte trail.
However, they underestimated the amount of water they would need for the 8-mile hike, and Taryn’s energy was depleted by the time they got to the mountain’s base. They were almost out of water, and the real climb had yet to begin. Ian asked Taryn to scramble up a rock wall for one last great view of the Haystack Butte, but she was grumbling and complaining all the way up. When Ian sat beside her, he apologized for everything they had been through that year, including the pandemic and the loss of Taryn’s job. He said, “Even though this year didn’t turn out how we wanted it to, I think I can make it up to you.” It was when Ian’s last phrase that Taryn understood what was happening.
Taryn burst into tears as Ian knelt on one knee and asked her to marry him. It was more romantic than anything Taryn could have dreamed up on her own, even though she was sweaty, dehydrated, and felt like she had smoked a pack of cigarettes. Despite the mishaps, course corrections, and the pandemic, the moment was perfect as Ian slipped the kite-shaped sapphire ring over her finger. Ian made it so.

The Wedding of Taryn & Ian

On the morning of Taryn and Ian’s special day, they took a lovely stroll along the beach and took some time to appreciate the beauty of the ocean and the creatures living in it, like sleepy sea turtles and a monk seal. They even had some kind strangers take their photos, and they returned the favor.
As the day went on, Taryn and her bridesmaids got ready for the wedding, and Ian was politely asked to step out while they got dolled up. Taryn gave her bridesmaids some lovely pearl pendants as gifts. The wedding took place at the Beach House, and despite the heat, the weather was terrific. The restaurant manager, Sylvia, made Taryn feel extra special, and she even got to enjoy a delicious Mai Tai before walking down the aisle with her dad.
Walking down the aisle was a magical experience for Taryn, as she heard the waves crashing against the shore, the music playing, and saw her soulmate waiting for her against the backdrop of the ocean. The ceremony was full of Hawaiian traditions, including pouring coconut milk to remember loved ones who had passed away. Taryn felt grateful for her new husband, their friends and family, and the fabulous Beach House staff and vendors who helped make their wedding day memorable.
Their reception was filled with love and laughter, and it was a joyous moment for everyone around them, with the ocean and the full sturgeon moon shining bright above them. Ian and Taryn felt truly blessed to share this incredible moment with all the beautiful people who made their wedding day unforgettable.

Bridal & Formal Experience

My sister and I had the fantastic experience of getting engaged in 2020, just seven months apart. One day, we decided to go wedding dress shopping with our lovely mom, and we were lucky enough to meet Lacrecia, our sales representative. She was warm and welcoming, and her knowledge of wedding dresses was impressive. She made us feel comfortable and excited about the dress selection process.
My sister found her dream dress (a stunning Maggie Sottero design) that day, but I decided to wait since I still needed to settle on a wedding venue. A few months later, I returned to the store with a friend and found the most beautiful gown I knew was “the one.” Like my sister, I also chose a Maggie Sottero design. When Lacrecia helped me put on my heels and did up my hair, I couldn’t help but cry tears of joy. It was an unforgettable experience; to top it off, I even met the Maggie Sottero designer!
Lacrecia is a true professional and has been in the wedding dress business for a long time. Her knowledge of the designers carried by Bridal and Formal was incredible, and she made us feel confident and secure in our choices. I tend to get indecisive when shopping, especially for big-ticket items like wedding dresses, but Lacrecia’s honesty and guidance helped me overcome my hesitation and choose the perfect dress. I will forever be grateful to her for making my wedding dress experience memorable.
