My husband and I met in college through mutual friends. We dated for 6 years, with at least 3 of those years being long-distance. He moved back just in time for Covid to hit, so by the Spring of 2021, we were ready to start traveling again. Andrew had never been to Disney, so I planned a trip for us to go to Florida and go to Magic Kingdom. While I was planning the trip, he was planning a surprise. He told me he booked an event at Cinderella’s Castle in the morning. When the time came, we went to the side of the castle by the wishing well, where I thought the entrance to the event was. I turned to say something to him, and he was down on one knee!
Our wedding day started with my girls and me getting ready at my childhood home. The makeup artists began setting up while the girls filed in. We had music going, drinks flowing, and a good time. The guys grabbed breakfast and headed to the reception hall to get ready. Before I knew it, it was time to put on my dress and get this show on the road! We headed to St. James Church, where the guys were waiting for us. The church was filled, the bridal party was lined up, and we were ready to walk down the aisle. My mom walked me down the aisle; the big moment was finally here. We said, “I do,” and “I do, too,” and then it was time to party! We ate, drank, and danced with our family and friends the night. We had the best night of our lives with the people who mean the most to us.
Going into dress shopping, I was nervous. I am not someone who enjoys shopping OR having all the attention on me; to top it all off, I can’t decide to save my life. I brought my mom, sister, soon to be mother in law and my aunt. My sister and mom have extreme opinions and have opposite tastes to me, so I was already expecting to go home frustrated. My consultant was Molly, and she was the BEST! She pulled out some dresses she thought fit with what I wanted, then walked the floor with me to let me pick a few out. Once I picked a handful, it was time to start the fashion show. I loved the first one I tried on, but I couldn’t say yes without checking out a few more. When I tried the second one on, I loved that one too. So I tried a few more on, and all ok but not as great as the first two. I went back and forth, trying both on again, and when I put the second one back on, my aunt said, “this is the one! You haven’t stopped smiling since you put it on!” She was right, and I was ready to say yes to my dress.
Molly was incredible! She was very patient with me. Molly listened to what I wanted and quickly learned my style based on what I liked and disliked while trying dresses. She did not make me feel rushed or like I had to make a decision that I wasn’t comfortable with. I found the perfect dress and couldn’t have done it without my team from Bridal and Formal.
