Eric and I met in college at OU. We had mutual friends but actually met during an event held on greek week. He was wearing a shirt that said oakwood Ohio which is 15 min away from where I’m from in Springboro. We ended up hanging out every day after we met and started dating 2 weeks later, in May of 2018. Eric proposed in the same place. We both said I love you on January 19, 2021, and we got married a year later on January 8, 2022.
We had a classic, traditional, romantic wedding day. 200+ people attended. We had friends and family fly in. In the morning, the girls got ready at the Marriott @ the university of Dayton. We did the first look with my dad and the bridesmaids, then we hopped on the party bus and went to the masonic for the first look and pictures. We then went to the church around 2 for the ceremony. After the ceremony, the wedding party went on the party bus for about an hour. We came in after a cocktail hour and did the introductions and the first dance. We literally stuffed our faces with the food for 10 minutes, then spent the rest of the time TRYING to say hi to everyone. Only made it to about half of the room. Then we did the cake cutting, toasts, father-daughter, and mother-son dances, then we did a huge group picture and then had a fantastic party for the rest of the night. After the reception, most guests went back to the Marriott to continue drinking at the hotel bar. It was indeed the happiest day of my life, having everyone I cared about there to celebrate with my husband and me.
So I had tried on probably 50 dresses by the time I went to bridal and formal. For every dress I thought was, I wanted to either add sleeves or change the neckline or add something. I was looking for a dress with long sleeves, lace, tiny shimmer/ sparkles, and a specific neckline. I explained to Bobbi what I was looking for (Bobbi and my sister were about to start pulling dresses); as we were talking, I could not stop staring at this dress. After our conversation, Bobbi and my sister all gravitated to the dress I was staring at. I tried it on a second and didn’t take it off for 20 minutes. It was exactly what I was looking for.
