We met at Purdue University, but it wouldn’t be until after we both graduated that we connected, and Reid asked me out to dinner. Fast forward three years – I was supposed to be going out to dinner with one of my girlfriends when I received a call ten minutes after we left. The cattle were out ( I come from a farming family, and this isn’t all that uncommon), and we needed to come back and help get them in. Pouting the whole way around about how I never get to do anything fun, my friend assured me it was fine. We would just change out our nice heels, move the cattle back into bounds where they needed to be, and then head back to Indy. We get closer to the farm, and by now, I’m looking for cattle but am seeing no sign of them… weird. I soon notice my horse in the middle of the pasture, and someone is holding him… strange. We get closer, and I realize that’s my boyfriend with my horse… super weird (he’s not a horse guy at all). Why is he all dressed up? It’s not making any sense at all. I see my sister trying to hide with a camera, and suddenly it dawns on me what is going on.
So I walk all the way out there (in my heels), and you guessed it. I’m greeted by Reid (and Charlie, my beloved equine friend). The rest is history, and it was indeed a memorable day.
The night before the wedding, we were starting to sweat.
A storm complete with winds, rain, and tornado sirens hit as we were in the middle of the rehearsal dinner.
Later during the night, we proceeded to have five inches of rain dumped on the area and awoke to flood the following day. Thunder still rumbled, and many roads were impassable. The bride herself had to rescue her goats from floodwaters before heading to the salon. (They all survived fine 🙂 ) Just before noon, though, the clouds parted, and the sun shone. The water receded, and the day ended up being absolutely perfect. We were so blessed to be surrounded by our loved ones.
I wasn’t planning on stopping; my best friend suggested we try it after having already been to several other shops in the area with no luck. We walked in and were invited to browse while a consultant was set up to help me. I tried on probably 15-20 beautiful dresses before settling on two to choose from. They made an overwhelming process so much easier and stress-free. The one I ended up with was absolutely perfect, and I couldn’t imagine anything different. Everyone was so patient, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I am so thankful for B&F’s kind service. Courtney was absolutely fantastic! She ultimately found “The One” for me and was so helpful. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better.
