Our stories are different on who approached who, but it’s evident Nelson approached me first. We dated and decided we would remain friends. I was occupied trying to pursue my nursing career and didn’t have the time to put into a relationship. We always remained friends; occasionally, we would hang out. Basically, we never lost contact. Fast forward, I graduated from grad school in December 2017. December 2018 Nelson took me to Jamaica as a late graduation gift( we were still friends, may I add). Came back home from our getaway. New Years’ Eve, Nelson attended church with me, and by the 2nd week of January, we were officially together.
March 18th, 2019 Nelson took me to one of my favorite restaurants ( Jeff Ruby’s). He made big plans to take me on an airplane ride; however, I was too afraid. I knew we had the dinner reservations, and I was okay with that. After we ate our meal, the waiter came to us and asked if we would like dessert. Nelson immediately tells him carrot cake, so the waiter darts off ( not even asking what I wanted). I looked at Nelson to ask him why didn’t he ask me what I wanted. I was so upset because I didn’t like that the waiter didn’t ask me what “I” wanted for “my “birthday. I nag Nelson about being in a relationship and how he can’t be selfish and think about himself. The waiter approaches our table as I’m giving Nelson an earful and tells me, “Ma’am here’s your carrot cake” I look the waiter straight in his eyes. I demanded him to bring me a dessert menu, he told me again, “ma’am here’s your carrot cake,” but this time, he pushed the plate close to me, forcing me to look down. When I looked at the plate, I noticed the considerable size of the carrot cake with a beautiful Diamond ring next to it. I was soooooooo embarrassed! When I looked at Nelson, I asked him if he was sure he wanted to marry me; I acted like a big brat. He got down on one knee, and the rest is history.
Seriously our wedding day was the BEST time.
EVER! The wedding day was absolutely amazing! Our outdoor ceremony was very intimate. We had a small guest list (80) due to COVID restrictions. For our reception, I wanted to have a party, and that’s just what we did! Everyone to this day talks about how our wedding was one of the best! It was simple but elegant! I could definitely do it all over again!
I received exceptional service on my visit, both for my dress and my bridesmaids. My sales consultant, Iris, helped ease my nerves. I was very anxious and didn’t think I would find my dress on my first-time dress hunting.
