The Proposal of
Mara & Cody
Cody and Mara met at the University of Cincinnati during their Microbiology course. They became lab partners, followed by close friends and the rest is history!
Cody proposed to Mara at the Alms Park Pavilion. He planned to make the proposal right at sunset to have the most beautiful view in town. We then were greeted by the family who had been spying and taking photos of us as the proposal occurred! It was a fantastic day, and we are so grateful to finally be married.
The Wedding of
Mara & Cody
Cody & Mara woke up the morning of the wedding, just so happy to marry the person of our dreams. They both decided on the theme of a royal masquerade ball-themed wedding. It was an elegant, romantic day where everyone could dress in their best dress and feel amazing! The girls started the day getting ready at Mara’s house. They then set off on a party bus to the reception venue to take photos. The boys met at the reception hall around the same time to bring their own images as Mara and Cody decided not to do a first look. We then went to the church and got ready for the ceremony! We chose St. Martin of tours as Mara’s grandmother (who was a nun) funeral took place. The cathedral is beautiful, and the walls feature stunning stained glass windows. The church was also still decorated for Easter, so we enjoyed all of the beautiful flowers and gold décor around the altar. The ceremony concluded, and we all headed back to the Bell event center for fantastic food, dancing, and fun! The bridesmaids were introduced wearing their masquerade masks, and the guest were all given a mask as a favor. The speeches were incredibly heartfelt and made everyone in attendance shed a tear. Following those, we danced the night away and had a fantastic time!
Mara’s
Bridal & Formal
Experience
My visit with Bridal and formal was terrific! I showed the consultant a photo, and she found my dress immediately. I think in total, I only tried on 4 dresses (2 of which were at a different store)! She knew exactly the vision I was going for and was incredibly professional and helpful. Thanks so much to you all for making my dress finding experience such a success, even during COVID!
