Our wedding took place on a perfect fall day in Lexington, KY. The bridal party started the morning, getting ready at the 21C Hotel suite and enjoying champagne and cat snuggles. The day went slow and also fast at the same time.
After we were ready, we exchanged a gift between Bardia and me. Afterward, everyone headed to the venue. The groomsmen arrived first as they set up for our first look. Bardia was placed in the Tuscan-like garden setting as I made my way up the path to see him for the very first time that day. Seeing him and myself dressed up and ready to start our lives together was an absolute dream. We were both consumed at the moment and wrapped ourselves in each other’s love.
After our first look, we started on bridal party photos and then on to the family. During pictures and after, the real star of our wedding during photos and after was my ragdoll cat, Bentley.
At our Ceremony, we had a beautiful backdrop full of greenery, hydrangeas, and roses under the tent at the apiary. The area was filled with vineyard chairs with greenery adorning the rows. As the bridal party walked down the aisle to the quartet playing, “I will follow you into the dark,” Bentley then made his way with my uncle Chris, and I waited patiently with my father to walk down the aisle to a non-traditional song, “Come What May.” We were then married by my best friend and matron of honor’s husband. We exchanged our personal vows and said I do to our beginning of forever.
After our Ceremony, it was cocktail hour. The quartet continued to play as we set off to take sunset and post-ceremony photos. We finished pictures and headed into our reception to be introduced as husband and wife. It took every bridesmaid to bustle my dress, and then we were prepared to make our entrance.
Our entire reception was adorned with candles, white pumpkins, silk ivory napkins, beautiful flowers, and navy velvet tablecloths. To me, it was perfect and looked like an absolute dream. After our introduction, we did our first dance to “I get to love you” by Ruelle, and then dinner was served. Our guests chose coq au vin or pear ravioli with the yummiest rolls.
After dinner, it was time for the father/daughter and mother/son dance and then our cake cutting. The cake was delicious, and we really regret not eating a whole piece. After the rest of the set schedule, it was time to dance. I am usually not one for breaking it down on the dance floor, but I did that night. We had the absolute time of our lives. Surrounding ourselves with our best friends and my sorority sisters was like a jolt and an absolute blast.
Other things to note were the personal details of our wedding sign that had a custom crest crafted for our wedding, including two of our cats.
It was indeed a dream, and everyone always says it goes by so fast, and it really does. If I could relive that night repeatedly, I would do it in a heartbeat.
My experience at Bridal and Formal was terrific. We had initially visited to look at a dress I had found online, and when that wasn’t “the one,” your endless collection of gowns led me to discover the dress of my dreams. Lacrecia was terrific and made the entire experience stress free.
