My mom and I came in on a whim on a Monday morning, just the two of us. I had an appointment scheduled for 2 weeks later to include my sister, best friend, and future Mother in Law, but I think my Mom was too excited to wait that long. Since we both happened to be off work that Monday, we decided to come in and I’m so thankful we did. There was an Eddy K trunk show that past weekend and the dresses were still there on Monday. I didn’t think I would find my dress that day, especially since that was the first day of shopping, but it was almost like it was meant to be. However, I think my sister, best friend, and Mother in Law wished that I didn’t find the dress that day so that they could have been there. Although I missed having them there, I was also thankful that my Mom and I got to share that special day just the two of us.
Kelsey was so easy to work with. Your wedding dress is a big deal and I didn’t realize I had found the one until she said: “You can’t stop staring at yourself in that dress.”

Everyone says that your wedding day is a whirlwind and it’s true. I wish that that day could have lasted forever. Being surrounded by your family and friends is the best thing in the world. It didn’t matter what went wrong that day (and things did), all that mattered was that I got to marry my best friend and we got to be surrounded by everyone who loves us.
We got married at Saint Ursula Academy in the Chapel. My high school holds a very special place in my heart, so it was amazing to share that day there with my husband and our family and friends.
Our reception was held at Hyde Park Golf and Country Club. My Aunt and Uncle sponsored us so that we could have it there. Besides it just being an amazingly beautiful space, the main reason we chose to hold our reception there was that they provided a game room for the kids to keep them occupied. My husband has 13 nieces and nephews (all under the age of 12) and family is very important to us so there was no way that we weren’t going to include them in our special day. Turns out that all we needed was our amazingly talented DJ because everyone, including the kids, stayed on the dance floor all night long. It was a perfect night.
